Troyes a popular holiday destination of France
The city of Troyes is located in NE France along the highway that heads from the French Alps towards Dijon, Reims, Lille and ends with the English Channel at Calais. Troyes belongs to the region of Champaign Ardenne and it is the administrative city of the Aube department.
Troyes is a popular holiday destination for many visitors from all over Europe as it has many attractions. The medieval quarter in the old town with the wooden houses is an amazing area with excellent houses built centuries ago in the typical architectural style of those times.
Most of the nightlife of Troyes takes part in the narrow medieval streets of the old Town and the restaurants, cafes and bars make this part of the old town the most interesting part of Troyes.
Very near is located the Cathedral of St Pierre and St Paul a magnificent example of Gothic architecture built between the 13-17th century with many similarities to the cathedral of Reims. The stained glass windows inside the Cathedral are a masterpiece. Next to the Cathedral is the Museum of Modern Art.
